TESTIMONIALS

I came to Experts' seeking help on my applications with 680 on GMAT. It was September and I did not have time to improve my score. However, I was guided to prepare for GMAT as the help from Experts' eased the applications burden on me. While I achieved a 750 on GMAT with the Experts' Global Guidance Program, my applications were also almost completed. I still applied everywhere in Round-1 and achieved multiple admits with great scholarships!

History

Boston College was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1863 and its classes commenced on 5th September, 1864 with 3 teachers and 22 students. The College had its original building in Harrison Avenue in Boston’s South End, before it moved to former Lawrence Farm in Chestnut Hill. The St. Mary’s Hall, Devlin Hall and Bapst Library, which are still an integral part of the campus, came into being in the years 1917, 1924 and 1928 respectively. The College of Business Administration, which is now called Wallace E. Carroll School of Management, saw its inception in 1938. The School acquired its current name due to $10million funding from Wallace E. Carroll of Katy Industries.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Carroll School of Management educates undergraduates preparing for careers in management, graduate students aspiring to greater responsibilities in a complex global economy and practitioners and executives seeking renewed vision and new skills for that economy. Vigorous teaching and learning, and research that advances business theory and enhances management practice are crucial means to these ends. Our current efforts are a partnership of students, faculty, staff, the business community, and the broader academic community. We seek and value the support and counsel of our alumni and the wider business community. We aspire to be an effective and caring organization for our immediate community, and we strive to direct all our efforts for the service of the many communities-local, national and global-which sustain us.

Core Strengths of the School

The MBA program has been designed with carefully sequenced courses that play a crucial role in building a strong foundation in business. Students develop business expertise and hone their managerial skills during this two-year program. The compulsory MBA specialization allows the students to acquire in-depth understanding of a functional area of business that they choose to opt. Students can opt for a tailored specialization that specifically addresses their career aspirations. Tailored specialization is a logical set of courses that focus on preparing a student for a specific career. Students can also enroll for concentrations of their choice that are shorter courses focusing on a specific area of business. The diversity of the MBA class facilitates knowledge-sharing through group discussions and team projects. The School believes that a diverse set of students belonging to different professional backgrounds bring varied set of skills to table. This fosters a mutual learning experience and gives an opportunity to the students for personal growth and professional advancement.

The International Management Experience IME gives an opportunity for the students to travel to destinations like China, India, France, Germany, etc. and make visits to startups, small scale businesses and multinational companies. Students get the chance to interact with top executives of the companies and government officials, and develop a holistic perspective on the business strategies and principles of management. They observe and explore the ways of conducting business in these countries and the impact of macro-economic factors on the business.
