    USP of the school

UT offers a fast track 16 month full-time MBA degree.

    Description

The UTD School of Management offers several programs for earning an MBA degree: Full-Time MBA, Professional MBA, and a number of Executive Education programs. Together, the programs offer on-campus, on-line and alternative scheduling options. All MBA degrees are 53 academic hours with the same set of 29- hour core requirements.

The Full-Time MBA Program is a 16-month program with a new class starting each fall. This program has selective admission criteria that ensure a class of students with strong business and educational backgrounds. Attending core classes during the day and electives in the evening, Full-Time MBA students enjoy the benefits of a small, personalized program embedded within the larger SOM graduate offerings. The School also offers a combined MD/MBA degree.

The Professional MBA Program is a flexible program designed for the working professional and those who want to complete the degree at their own pace. Students may begin the program any semester. There are two convenient modes for completing this degree: the traditional classroom approach (classes offered primarily in the evenings, usually meeting once a week for three hours on campus) and the Global MBA Online (classes offered via the Internet for students who travel or have scheduling conflicts or live outside of the DFW area). The School offers over 100 electives. Typically students complete either program in three years. Students may also take a combination of classroom and online courses to complete the Professional MBA degree.

Executive Education is for experienced professionals with significant years of work experience. Students continue to work full-time, learning from their fellow students throughout the program. To address the different interests of executives, there are several programs including the Executive MBA, the Global Leadership Executive MBA, the Project Management MBA and the Medical Management MBA. In the Executive MBA, classes meet three days a month for 21 months with a new group of students starting each Fall. Specifically designed for the working executive who wants practical solutions to real-world problems, this program emphasizes managing for change and doing business in a dynamic, global, technology-driven environment. The Global Leadership Executive MBA is designed for mid-career managers or senior professionals who work in or are interested in international business and who need a flexible learning model. Curriculum includes business core courses and a one year sequence—courses, seminars, workshops and an intensive 10-day international study tour—designed to develop global leadership competencies.

The School also offers two specialized Executive MBA programs including the Project Management MBA—designed to meet the professional needs of experienced managers with program and project responsibilities; and the Medical Management MBA—provides physicians and senior administrators with the critical business skills they need to improve the leadership and management of healthcare organizations.
