The Alfiero Center opened for students in fall 2005. The 23,000-square-foot, student focused facility is adjacent to the Jacobs Management Center and features three high-tech classrooms, student lounges, a Tim Horton's internet café, graduate and undergraduate program offices, the nationally acclaimed Career Resource Center, fourteen group breakout rooms and a suite of offices for student organizations. Wireless computer technologies are integrated throughout the building, giving management students around-the-clock access to business research and market data.
The Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition awards up to $25,000 in start-up funding plus in-kind services to the top team. Annual MBA Case Competitions award prizes to finalist teams and sponsors awinning team’s trip to a national case competition.
Other MBA-sponsored activities have included a Winter Survival Seminar, cross-country skiing, Adirondack Mountain hiking and the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim Hike and many community service events including New Orleans trips in 2009 and 2010. The Graduate Management Association sponsors the year-end MBA Dinner/Dance, Winter Festivus,occasional happy hours, sports competitions and community volunteer events. Other student clubs sponsor events ranging from professional development seminars to casual socials. The Graduate Programs Office sponsors Country Forums and Conversations with an Executive.

Degree Programs
The UB School of Management offers a full-time MBA, a part-time Professional MBA, and an Executive MBA program at the Amherst, N.Y., campus. There are also one-year, full-time MS programs in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems and Supply Chains and Operations Management. An Executive MBA program is offered in Singapore and MBA/MS programs in Bangalore, India with Amrita University. Another school distinctive is a selection of dual degree programs combining the MBA with degrees in Medicine, Law, Geography, Architecture, Pharmacy, Audiology, Social Work and Public Health

Innovative Program Structure
The UB MBA begins with MBA Advantage, an intensive orientation and professional development program that continues over three semesters. MBA Advantage includes teamwork and leadership segments with significant career development components. Alumni and major recruiters join UB staff, faculty and nationally known presenters to bring you this award-winning program.
Students are divided into cohorts for the first year, taking core classes with the same group of classmates. Each cohort is divided into diverse study groups for projects and presentations. In their second year, MBAs incorporate their individual interests and professional objectives by choosing electives based on nine specialized business concentrations: , corporate reporting and control, finance, global service and supply management, information systems and e-business, information assurance, international management, management consulting, marketing, and supply chains and operations management, or a specialization in workforce management.
