Telling your story through written essays is an important part of the application, but the video essay lets us hear your words in your own voice. In the required video essay, every candidate will answer a “small talk” question to help the MBA Admissions Committee get to know you. The video essay instructions and link are located in your application portal.
Still have more to share? This optional essay is your opportunity to share something you couldn’t find a place for on your application. This is also where you should address anything the committee may question (e.g., gaps in employment, academic challenges, choice of recommender). You can use essay format or bullets. Please identify topics if more than one is addressed.

The Emory College was founded in 1836 in the Georgia town of Oxford by the Methodist Episcopal Church. The institution struggled for decades and began to prosper only in the 1800s. On February 18th, 1919, the dean of Emory College, Howard Odum, championed the effort towards the creation of a “school of economics and business administration”. The new school now worked in coordination with the Emory College to offer courses in economics, accounting and business law. In 1926, eight students were awarded Bachelors degree in Business Administration. The School moved to the C.L. Fishburne building in 1936. The MBA program commenced in 1954 with 19 students registered for it. Emory’s MBA program was one of the first masters programs in the country to be awarded the AACSB accreditation.
